I make purty things too....acme1225

"Delphine" $45 acme1225

"Esme"$35 acme1225

Today I am merging two of my favorite obsessions....this blog and my line of jewelry.

I started acme1225 to satisfy my need for tough one-of-a-kind pieces that are also elegant. To achieve that goal I use black and gunmetal safety pins and pair them with faceted Czech glass, Tibetan silver, glass pearl and wooden beads to create conversation-inducing bracelets.

The origin of the safety pin bracelet can be traced to a group of craftspeople from South Africa named the Inkwenkwezi, who are known for taking items that others consider to be trash and creating things of beauty such as: jewelry, baskets and purses.

"Naomi" $55 acme1225

"Hayden" $55 acme1225

A portion of each sale is donated to the Galkayo Education Center for Peace and Development (GECPD) - a program that provides educational opportunities for young girls and job training for women in Somalia - to help pay for hygiene products for girls so they don't have to miss school several days a month. You can read more about GECPD here at the website Jezebel.

"Olivia" $45 acme1225

"Antonia" $40 acme1225

I've teamed up with the fabulous maison21 (if you don't already follow his blog, please check it out) for a fabulous giveaway. Visit acme1225, select your favorite piece, then leave a comment here at The Dame's Got Moxie and let me know which is your favorite.

To double your chances of winning , follow the TDGM on Twitter; to qualify for a third entry, "like" The Dame on Facebook. Don't forget to email me with your comment and "bracelet giveaway" in the subject line, along with your Twitter and Facebook info, so I can make sure you get credit for your entry. Good luck!!!

"Greer" $55 acme1225

"Fallon" $65 acme1225

Tough to select just one from this bevy of beauties, but I think that Greer gets my Best In Show vote. I can just see it on my arm when I wear my black cashmere cape. Hello drama! Best of luck in this new endeavor and I really appreciate the "give back" aspect of your business.

Oh, I love them all but especially "Greer."

My email is dresdenisfree@yahoo.com and you can ask Christian about my complete adoration of him and his love for animals.

I have shared the giveaway on Facebook already too.

Good luck with your jewelry. It's fabulous!

These look so fun and cool and I would adore any one of them. However, the Chantal REALLY grabbed my attention....I might have been a magpie in another life! I have a rather large 8" wrist so finding bracelets that actually fit me is a challenge. I am coming to you from Christian's blog!

What an incredible opportunity! Love the story and reality behind this line of jewelery. Think my favourite is the Delphine followed closely by Esme.
